President with no experience hires legal researcher with no experience.

The Washington Times reports that the Obama White House hired a 29 year old as White House counsel research director. The new hire has no law degree nor any legal training. Her sole experience has been as an opposition researcher for Democratic political campaigns. Her job was to dig up dirt on Republican opponents or to prepare defenses for her Democratic candidates.

Not to worry though assures the White House. She will be doing traditional legal research for the White House lawyers. Are they kidding? She has no legal training or experience and they are going to have her do legal research? Is their budget so tight that they can't afford a junior lawyer with Harvard Law credentials and they have to hire someone with no experience whatsoever?

How can they expect a novice to work at the issues facing the White House? Oh, now I understand. The President has no real experience so they think they can bring a person with no legal experience to do legal work too.
