Some people express surprise that President Obama allowed Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats to draft the stimulus package rather than submitting his own plan. Such conduct should surprise no one.
Obama has provided zero leadership throughout his short career. Even when the country faced the financial meltdown during the presidential campaign, Obama offered no real solutions and provided no leadership. He passively said that he would wait for calls from Senate leadership.
Why would one expect him to provide leadership now? In waiting for Pelosi, he simply did as he has always done, taken his cues from Democratic leadership.
