Rep. Murtha: Move the Guantanamo prisoners to my district.

According to Fox News, Representative John Murtha opines that the prisoners in Guantanamo are "no more dangerous in my district than in Guantanamo." He added that there was "no reason not to put 'em in prisons in the United States and handle them the way they would handle any other prisoners."

This simply shows Rep. Murtha's failure to understand the threat posed by terrorism. Admittedly, this country incarcerates large numbers of people for various crimes. However, while these criminals violated American law, they accept the continued existence of the American society. They have no desire to destroy that society or murder large numbers of Americans or commit suicide in the commission of crime.

The prisoners in Guantanamo and their confederates want to destroy American society and murder as many Americans as possible. They are quite willing to sacrifice their own lives and their confederates for that project. Moving Guantanamo prisoners to the USA provides a massive target for terrorists within this country.

Given the open borders and the freedom of movement within the USA, terrorists could easily organize an attack on any facility within this country that would not be possible in Cuba.
